Acrobat Pro 2020 runs in translation mode (Rosetta) on M1 Macs, and not very well. It crashes frequently and freezes up. Luckily you can turn this off which greatly improves its performance.
- You’ll want to go to Acrobat > Preferences
- Uncheck “Enable native OS mode for optimal performance”
- Then select OK and restart Acrobat Pro 2020
