Follow the steps below to change a file to open with your preferred application. This article will use switching apps for opening PDFs as an example but this can be done with any program.


  1. Right-click on the file you want to change programs for and click "Properties"


  2. In the properties dialog, click "Change"


  3. Select your preferred program and click "OK"


  4. In the Properties dialog box, click "OK"


5. Once you hit OK all files of the same type will open with the application you select
