If you have unsearchable PDFs you want to make searchable follow the steps below. Once you've converted a file and made it searchable you will not have to do it again. This is a once-per-file process.

  1. Move the file you need to make searchable into the Temp folder on your desktop
  2. Right-click the file -> Edit with Foxit PDF Editor
  3. Navigate to the "Convert" tab at the top
  4. "Recognize Text" -> "Current File"
  5. If you need to do multiple files select "Multiple Files" instead -> "Add files..." -> "Add files.." again -> Select all of the files you want to convert -> Click "OK"
  6. Make sure the settings are the same as the image below (should be the default settings)
  7. Click OK, it will take a while for it to run
  8. Once it's done if you want to confirm it worked
  9. Navigate to the "View" tab at the top
  10. Click "Text Viewer" to see the text. You can click the arrows at the bottom of the page to check individual pages.
  11. Click "Text Viewer" again to revert back to the normal PDF
