BitLocker helps mitigate unauthorized data access on lost or stolen computers by encrypting all user files and system files on the operating system drive, so that the drive cannot be read on a computer other than original. If the drive is booted on the original computer, it's still protected by the username and password you use every day to login.
In short - so long as a username and password aren't compromised as well, a properly encrypted laptop that is lost or stolen does not constitute a reportable data breach, and meets all requirements to which any of our current customers are subjected.
