A lot of users are getting an alert email with a subject of "Enroll in 2-step verification now to avoid losing domain access"2-Step Verification (also called 2 Factor Authentication) is a cybersecurity feature that for compliance purposes we have to push to all of our customers to protect their Google accounts, even for customers that don't use Gmail.  This is not unique to Google - this move is happening across all "cloud" platforms and services.  The industry statistics are something like 99%+ of hacked accounts are ones that do NOT have 2 factor authentication enabled.

NOTE: Please don't ignore this alerts - if you don't do it before the deadline, you have to call Pinnacle to manually reset your account. If you have a Windows login managed by Pinnacle, you almost certainly have a Google login, regardless of whether you know it or have used it.

At least turning on 2 step verification at Google is easy:

1. Go to www.google.com, and click your avatar/picture in the upper-right hand corner to make sure you are logged in with your corporate account:

2. If your corporate account is not listed, click Add another account

3. Your Google login and password should be your email address, and the same password you use to log into Windows.

Note: If you see the warning from step 7 to ENROLL, you may skip down to that step.

4. Once you get logged in, clock the avatar/picture in the upper right again and click "Manage Your Google Account"

5. Click Security on the left

6. Click 2-Step Verification

7. You'll see a warning telling you to enroll in 2 step verification - please click ENROLL

8. You'll see what's probably a familiar screen asking for a cellular number to send the 2 step verification codes to:

9. After you've entered the number, click Next.  You'll enter the code that was texted to you.

10. Once 2-step verification is enabled, you'll see options for "backup methods".  You may do those if you like, but it's unnecessary - if all else fails in the future for some reason, you can call Pinnacle and we can reset your account for you.

That should be it!  If you have any issues, please reach out to Pinnacle - 260-205-8900 or email techsupport@pinnacletechnology.solutions
