How to Change iPhone Camera to Shoot JPEG Format Pictures

Apple changed the file format that iPhone uses for the pictures it takes. This is the .HEIC format. This can be problematic because windows can't natively open that file format. To fix it, change the file format that your iphone uses by following the steps below. 



  1. Open the “Settings” app on the iPhone and go to “Camera”
  2. Choose “Formats” and select “Most Compatible” to shoot photos in JPEG format on iPhone camera
  3. Exit out of Settings
